CRICKET-WBBL-Dottin out of Strikers title defence.

ADELAIDE -- Retired West Indies Women star, Deandra Dottin, will not be a part of Adelaide Strikers' defence of their Women's Big Bash title, when the tournament bowls off next Thursday.

The 32-year-old was a victim of salary cap restrictions, Strikers turning to inexperienced England all-rounder Dani Gibson during the draft instead.

South African batting sensation Laura Wolvaardt has been retained, however, while captain Tahlia McGrath headlines the domestic star trio of Megan Schutt and Darcie Brown.

'We were keen to retain Laura and everything from there, it was assessing the next best available player for the particular roles that we had,' said head coach Luke Williams.
