HORSE RACING-CARIBBEAN-Barbadian Whitehall stars in Birdcatcher capture.

Barbadian jockey Antonio Whitehall captured one of the five added-money races up for grabs on Sunday's ten-race card at Century Downs, when he paired with 2-1 choice Grated Coconut to win the CAN$50 000 Birdcatcher Stakes.

In a three-horse race for the two-year-olds over a mile and sixteenth, Whitehall pulled off a crushing 12-A1/4 length victory with the roan gelding, reaching the wire in a time of one minute, 44:59 seconds.

The victory was only the 11th of the season for Whitehall, however, Jamaican Dane Nelson sitting on top of the pile on 18, with just a week left in the seven-week campaign.

Grated Coconut duelled with pacesetter Suddenly Famous early on as the favourite pulled the field through fractions of 23.18 seconds for the quarter and 48.95 for the half.
