UPDATE-CARIBBEAN-WEATHER - Dominica discontinues tropical storm warning.

ROSEAU -- The government of Dominica has discontinued the tropical storm warning and hurricane watch for the island.

Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs Rayburn Blackmoore announced this online as officials monitored the development of Hurricane Tammy.

In his statement Blackburn said the centre of Hurricane Tammy has moved 50 miles east of Dominica and is expected to move further north away from Dominica as the day progresses.

Based on advice from the Senior Met Officer and the Office of Disaster Management (OPM), the decision was taken to remove the tropical storm warning and hurricane watch for Dominica from 11 am (local time).
